INSDAG to hold steel design contest
July 26, 2010: The Institute for Steel Development and Growth (INSDAG) will hold a national-level competition which seeks to recognise and reward talented students of civil and structural engineering in India for excellence and innovation in structural steel design.
This year's theme - A steel-intensive foot over-bridge - is very topical and inspired by projects which are currently in great demand in the country.
INSDAG is a non-profit making body established by the Ministry of Steel, government of India and leading steel producers of the country.
Director-general of INSDAG, Sushim Banerjee, said: "Our idea is to give students a platform to demonstrate their talent. It also gives them an opportunity to interact with industry experts and gain insights into the required skill sets and ways to stay abreast of technological advancements in civil engineering worldwide."
